FORBIDDEN ISLAND – THE POPULAR FAMILY GAME WHERE YOU MUST COLLABORATE

The island was the hidden refuge of the Archeans, an ancient mystical civilization. The myth is that the Archeans controlled the four elements of Earth – fire, wind, water, and earth – with four sacred treasures: the Crystal of Fire, the Statue of Wind, the Chalice of the Ocean, and the Stone of the Earth. Because the treasures would cause catastrophic damage in the wrong hands, the Archeans secretly hid them on Forbidden Island and designed it to sink if intruders ever tried to steal them. After the mysterious downfall of their empire, Forbidden Island remained hidden for centuries... until now.

Your team of adventurers must collaborate to prevent Forbidden Island from sinking, allowing you enough time to retrieve the four treasures. Once you have them, you must make it to Fool's Landing and escape with the helicopter to win. But if the island sinks before the mission is complete, you lose! Can your team be the first to enter the island, find the treasures, and make it out alive?

It's a cooperative game by the author of the successful Pandemic. The simpler rules and shorter playtime compared to Pandemic make it suitable as a family game or an introduction to cooperative games. You can determine the difficulty level, keeping the game challenging and exciting. The atmospheric illustrations on the tiles and the beautifully designed treasures complete the game. In 2011, it was one of the three nominees for the Spiel des Jahres 2011!
