For Jurassic Park, two life-sized Tyrannosaurus rex animatronics were built for the Main Road attack sequence. One was a full-sized, 37-foot-long animatronic, while the other, designed for precision, was constructed from the torso up. Michael Trcic sculpted the head and neck, with teeth and eyes crafted by Robert Henderstein. With valuable support from Greg Nicotero, the ECC team had access to the original film prop and high-resolution 3D scanning. Bitan meticulously recreated the character from the film, capturing its unique asymmetry and original prop marks. ECC’s key artists, Miyo Nakamura and Miranda Jory, prepared the master painter using detailed studio photo documentation.
